FUT Strip Post Surgery Instructions

Receiving zone

You will be given a saline spray to use on the evening of the operation, then every hour for the following two days. Spray lightly on the transplant area and dry without rubbing using a towel. Repeat the spray of salt solution until the bottle is empty.

From 2nd to 7th postoperative day:

Pour isobetadine into your hands, lather and apply to the transplants without rubbing, rinse gently using a container (e.g. a cup). Avoid showering and avoid pressure on the scalp when drying.

From 8th to 15th postoperative day:

Apply shampoo and massage the grafts with small and very light circular movements. Rinse with water under normal pressure.

Donor area

From 1st to 7th postoperative day:

Pour isobetadine into your hands, lather and apply to the area without rubbing, rinse under water at low pressure.

From 8th to 11th day:

Gently massage the scar with small circular movements then rinse under water at normal pressure.

On 11th day:

The threads of the stitches should start to be absorbed. At this stage, every stitch that remains must be removed so that the scalp heals better. If the sutures are kept longer in a swollen scar can result which may become unsightly.
